LOVE.. I…LOVE…THIS….LENSSeriously, I love it. I received it on 11/6/2015 and just happened to have a Senior session scheduled for a soccer player. At f/1.6 I was shooting full bodies w/ him about 15 yards from the net and it was REALLY blowing it out. Absolutely Incredible. Best Lens I’ve Ever Owned. This is probably the first review that I’ve written in a long time that I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This lens is, without a doubt, the best lens I have ever put on my camera. I have the 24-70 2.8, the 70-200 2.8, the 28mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, and have had a few others in the mix recently. Better than the Nikon 85mm f/1.8!! WOW!! I used to have the Nikon 85mm f/1.8 but sold it right after receiving this Nikon 85mm f/1.4. Super sharp with gorgeous bokeh! The only negative…the ONLY one…is that I hate the lens hood. It locks onto the lens nicely for storage, but when put on for actual use, it’s very loose. Well, it does click in but a small bump will jar it loose. All of my other Nikon lens hoods are secure. Absolutely worth the cost if you’re looking for one of the best Nikon portrait lenses!
