The new Rokinon cine DS 85mm T1.5 cine lens is one of Rokinon newly introduced 2ND generation of cine lenses under its cine DS line. The Rokinon cine DS lineup has 3 primary advantages: 1) all of the gears are unified among all Rokinon cine DS lenses. The focus and aperture gears are exactly aligned so that the user does not have to re-adjust his/her follow focus when swapping out lenses. 2) The new cine DS lenses now feature dual focusing scales, One on each side. 3) all of the cine DS lenses are tested to be color matched to provide the same color & contrast in video production.

Great lens!Pros:-Sharp-Excellent image quality-Great color reproduction-Well packaged-Good material build quality-Lens hood is sturdy-Lens storage pouch is appreciated-Aperture ring is buttery smoothCons:-Very heavy-Focusing ring makes a dragging noise whenever I turn the focusing ring to focus.-Due to the location of the aperture ring, it’s easy to accidently change it with your palm when trying to use the focus ring.

Customer Video Review Length:: 0:51 Mins I bought the Rokinon Cine DS DS85M-N 85mm T1.5 AS IF UMC Full Frame Cine Fixed Lens for Nikon to use for filming a upcoming eventNew Orleans Bike Week 2016. I was using this lens with a Nikon D610 FX DLSR Camera mounted on my DSLR Video rig. I was shooting in full manual mode at 1080p at 24FPS. This lens was so easy to use with my follow focus and the aperture adjust was a real plus when shooting videos with it. If I could give this lens more the 5 stars I would. If you are going to shoot any kind a videos. This lens is a must have one to use. A really great lens for a great price A really great lens for a great price. I got the Micro 4/3 mount version of this lens, and am quite happy with it. The picture quality is pretty sharp, even when shot wide open at T1.5. The action on the focus and aperture rings are both very smooth. The build quality of the lens itself is excellent, with solid materials and a heft weight. The lens hood is a bit cheap feeling, but that doesn’t bother me. I would very much recommend this lens to any aspiring videographer/photographer who can’t afford the way more expensive Cine-lenses. I’ve attached a few test shots.
