Now if you buy this to shoot portraits or anything involving pictures you will be so happy. This lens works well Any review you read or see of this lens will mention the auto focus is noisey, and it is. So in my opinion don’t buy this to shoot video. Now if you buy this to shoot portraits or anything involving pictures you will be so happy. This lens works well, pictures are “sharp” and rivals the Canon 85mm 1.8 at 1/2 the price. Plus the seller, A&R Photo, delivered it on time and well packaged.
The lens is good, just know what you are buying. Personally, I just want to say I don’t like Clif’s review. It is not very informative and accurate to what the review should be. A youtube channel named ‘Christopher Frost Photography’ has already reviewed a copy of the lens and compared it head on with the canon 85mm. He quotes it’s just as sharp as the canon 85mm.To overview what was in his video:1.The build quality is the same as the canon.2. It doesn’t have Usm, its accurate but the auto focus motor is quite noisy which could be a deal breaker but a lens at that focal length would not be doing street photography and more of studio work/outdoor portraits. Also has manual focus override.3. Just as sharp.4.Will NOT work with anything ef-m.For in depth and samples watch the video. Now what really grinds my gears is that cliff just gives the lens a bad review just because it doesnt work on his little M5. Then I’m sorry then your better off getting a 50mm 1.8 or a second hand 85mm…
