The eye cups are a deal killer! Eye cups are ridiculously hard to adjust and they all have been this way since Zeiss introduced these.Since they are removable why didn’t Zeiss fix them? I don’t understand. Every time you adjust them you almost have to break them. Too bad the optics are very nice on the Zeiss.
nice solid optical package at high quality Feels great in hands (rubbery non-slippery feeling) and is built very solid. I had Terra 10×42 before, which was good optically as well. However the Terra (made in China) had issues with the eye cups, so i returned it and decided to try the higher priced Conquest 10×42 (made in Germany). Some people complain about the lense covers falling off, but it hasnt been the case with my Conquest. My lense covers sit tight and there is a string on each side, which helps to support the whole concept…
Nice glass, sensitive focus knob. When I bought these, I was comparing two models: The Vortex Razor HD 10×42 and these. I bought the Zeiss over the others for two reasons. First, the optical quality. In my opinion the Zeiss was clearly superior to the Vortex Razor. I only had to have them up to my eyes for a few seconds to know that I liked the Zeiss glass better.The second reason is not as obvious and might help others choose.
