Most likely counterfeit I work at a computer firm that has been using 20 to 30 HP LaserJet printers at any given time over the last 30 years (approx. 750 to 1000 cartridge replacements) and I have never seen an issue like this from HP toner cartridges. I just returned my 2nd double pack and all 4 cartridges were defective. The issue is something I have never seen and can’t even imagine how it would happen. The plastic strip that you pull out will not come out. You can pull on it with pliers and it just eventually…
Remanufactured is the wortd of the day I just returned one box with two cartridges. Amazon did replace them with two new high volume cartridges. I have been using these cartridges for about 5 years 12 cartridges a year. Before that I refilled my own cartridges. I know what a refilled or re-manufactured does. This is classic. Very good cartridge I have used both the generic and HP 55x over the past five years. The generic brands worked just fine, except they generally have 5-10% less pages than specified, where with the 55x, I generally get ~5-8% more pages than specified. The HP cartridges always worked fine, and until the last few pages, with clean and crisp edges on letters, and uniform ink spread. Even thought this is much pricier than the generic, I would still recommend it.
