A Downgrade from the Connect, and a Forced Upgrade at That This is the product I’m forced to move to in order to keep my Sonos ecosystem functional as it already currently is because my original Sonos:Connect was deprecated is now considered Legacy, despite being just 5 years old. What’s more, the Port here is a downgrade – cheaper materials, loss of external button control surface, loss of TOSLINK optical port. Tempted to hijack a Sonos 1 I am new to Sonos and have four Play:1s throughout the house. All I want is a Sonos controller that feeds mono to my receiver. I could buy the discontinued Connect or the new Port to achieve this end but both cost more than just taking apart one of my Play 1s and robbing the signal going to the speaker and connect to a $30 line level converter. It would be so nice not to have to do that. Sonos, can you please build us a simple controller for existing A/V systems that is $150 or less? Obviously,…
