- All MONARCH 5 binoculars are now built with Nikon’s legendary ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass lenses, which correct chromatic aberrations across the furthest limits of the visible light range and effectively compensate for color fringing.
- Dielectric High-Reflective Multilayer Prism Coatings are applied to all lenses and prism coatings to provide high-contrast images and accurate color reproduction.
- Massive 56mm objective lenses provide superior light gathering ability for overcoming less than ideal lighting conditions.
Very Nice Binos I’ve been using these now for about a month, and every time I get them out I like them more. Clear, bright, powerful, easy to use. Out of curiosity I went to a big box sporting goods store that starts with ‘C’ to compare to higher end (or just more expensive) glass. Ended up comparing Nikon Monarch 5 10×42 ($329) to Swarovski SLC HD 10×42 ($1800) and Vortex Razor HD 10×42 ($1000). Had to compare the smaller binos since neither Swaro nor Vortex had comparable 20×56, and needed to keep apples…
Compete with Vortex Kaibab These high powered binoculars are great for hunting and any outdoor adventure. I set my Nikon 20×56 on a tri-pod at about 5 AM and glassed an entire ridgeline seeing several elk and white tail at ranges between 800-1900 yards. The low light dispersion is pretty good, although with the 20x optics, the view is slightly darker than the elusive Vortex Kaibab which retail at $1200. For a high end glass, these Nikon’s do display a wide range of color and depth at low light conditions. The weight…
Excellent factory refurbs. No tripod needed. I’ve had 20x binocs for decades. These are excellent binoc’s. Came with a case and a great neoprene strap and a tripod adapter, which I will probably never use… My pair was factory refurb. and Nikon does an excellent job on their refurbs. Every man should have a good pair of binoculars!
