A review from someone who actually bought it First things first. If you buy a 2080 or something and you’re expecting a giant leap in performance, forget it; you’re best off saving your money. This thing is only about 15% more powerful than a standard 2080, and isn’t as strong as a 2080TI.HOWEVER, if you don’t have $1300 to spend on a high quality 2080TI, this is your best bet.I upgraded from a 1070TI and BOY let me tell you the difference is massive. I’m actually surprised if I drop below 144fps, even at ultra, in…
Great GPU, but not worth upgrading I have been using an ASUS 1080 Ti Turbo for over a year now. I wanted to try the 2080 Super in hopes of a more powerful, quieter, and cooler card. My 1080 Ti was a decent over clocker for a blown style card, running at 2050MHz. The 2080 Super XC Ultra can barely over clock do to the factory OC. I was able to get only +70 which puts me running at 2050MHz – 2100MHz depending. This yields only a 10fps increase over the 1080 Ti. However, it is much quieter than the blower style 1080 Ti and about…
Depending on what youre upgrading from this is good, or very meh I was coming from a 1080 ftw hybrid, the benchmarks for 1080s vs this card showed roughly a 30-50% increase in FPS. Unfortunately I must have won the silicon lottery with my 1080 and lost it here, because I only gained about 15-30% in most of the games I benchmarked. That said, the 2080 super is a very capable card. As any number of professional reviews will support, these cards are the second strongest GPUs you can buy right now. If you’re updating from a 1070 or lower, you will…
