Macro at its best. For the life of me I don’t know why didn’t I get this lens years ago. I missed a lot of really great shots because I was using the wrong lens; I lacked adequate working distance. The working distance with this lens makes all the difference in the world. If what you’re shooting gets spooked and exits stage left, you’re left without a shot. This is the third Macro lens I’ve shot with and it’ll likely be the last. It’s just that good. … off distance alone is worth the price for this excellent Macro from Nikon The stand off distance alone is worth the price for this excellent Macro from Nikon. I have had mine for about two years and I have zero complaints. Small flowers, insects, bird nests, it is fast, and gives tack sharp pictures edge to edge in the conditions you are shooting. It is crazy heavy… it will wear you out…
