Set up is tricky – Limited functionality The subs functionality it quite limited. It only works for music streamed over the internet. That means that alarms, Bluetooth, voice response from alexa, news, weather, etc do not take advantage of the sub which is pretty disappointing. Also if you are using this in pair with two echos set up in stereo, the stereo speaker only works for music which is dumb.At first it didn’t bother me but i found if i set the volume at 3, its plenty loud for music which plays through the stereo speakers and…
CAN (Canât) be used in Multi-Room Setup – Confirmed The sound quality is very good. The major flaw is that once the subwoofer is paired to form a speaker set…. that speaker set cannot be part of a multi room music system…. so it effectively makes the speaker set ( speaker and subwoofer) a one room system. That totally defeats the purpose of having music in the whole house….and defeats the option to add the much needed bass to the Echo speakers. I understand the reasoning… but it hampers the expansive sound quality. Hope the developers…
If you want real bass and live in larger than a prison cell, this isn’t for you. Man, I really had high hope’s for this device. It isn’t even close to a subwoofer. Maybe goes to 100 Hz. Took several hours to play together with the stereo speakers I bought too. It sounds best when it is almost off… all it does is boom… like beating a wet rug on a clothes line in time with the music. At this price it should have had an 8″ at least, preferably a 10″. I’ve tried in in a dozen different places including adjacent rooms and away from walls there is no way to blend the…
