My first Seagate purchase in over a decade The last Seagate hard drive I purchased was back in 2007. I had resolved to avoid them by all means after Seagate embarked on producing drives around that time that were highly prone to failure.Since that time, I switched to using HGST drives (and bought dozens of them) and never had one fail on me.This time around I was looking for 12TB capacity hard drives and was not able to find one in the HGST brand at that time. Whether or not this drive will outlast an Ironwolf is yet to be determined. Based on BackBlaze’s testing data i’d bet they’re fairly close. When this drive was registered for…
