Per Yale customer support, the lock mechanism is prone to seizing/jamming I installed this lock in January and initially had little to no problems. This week the lock jammed after leaving the house and would not unlock upon return. When entering my code it would flash the numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 (which makes a sort of an ‘X’ shape on the keypad). Best of the Homekit-compatible deadbolts, with one drawback. I have three of the Yale Homekit-compatible locks, as well as one each of the Kwikset and Schlage Homekit-compatible locks. The Yale is my favorite of the three. The unit is well-made and attractive. The UI is user-friendly. The only drawback is the software. You canât create a code that only works for a limited time, like you would want to provide to a babysitter or a housekeeper. Iâm hopeful that Yale will add this feature. If they do that, Iâll give them five stars.
