Solid Action Camera and Nice Upgrade to Earlier Model I wanted an action camera to take video and photos during my motorcycle trips. I like to take multi-hour to multi-day motorcycle trips so I was looking for a well rated and reliable action camera at a reasonable price point. Motorcycles are hard on electronics due to the vibration and it can be difficult to secure valuables when you park the bike to take a break, eat, check out a shop or attraction, etc. Consequently I have never been able to justify an expensive GoPro that would force me to stay within sight of my bike at all times or carry it around to protect it from theft or risk it vibrating loose from its mount. This takes me to the DragonTouch line of action cameras.I currently own a DragonTouch Vision 3 camera that I used on a 10 day trip from the east coast to South Dakota. The Vision 3 worked very well and allowed me to capture a number of great wide angle photos in the mountains and over 2 hours of video from rides through the mountains and Bad Lands National…
Very Bad Camera After deciding to keep this camera after the seller offered a small compensation for bad information they gave me before I purchased it, I wound up returning it after all. The camera recorded for 13 minute segments, then began a new file. At first I though it might be the “loop” setting but there is no setting that will make this camera loop every 13 minutes. AND — the picture quality at every setting was relatively poor. Picture quality at low light was as bad as I have ever seen in a camera at any price. All in all…a complete waste of my time.UPDATE 12-19-2018: Not only was this camera bad, the seller Dragon Touch is even worse! For the past 2 days they have been haranguing me (17 total emails exchanged), trying to get me to delete my honest review. This has been a very bad experience.
Good camera but horrible batteries that run hot. I bought this camera to replace an old GoPro. I used it for four days of dirt bike riding in nothern Maine. The camera takes decent footage with the extreme micro SD card. It is super easy to use and does not require the wireless to be running while using the remote. The batteries they give with this camera are not so good. They averaged fifteen minutes at their best. The weather was consistently 60 degrees and the batteries ran super hot. I attempted to shoot footage with the camera facing the rear of my helmet to capture the other riders behind me but each time the camera heated up and fogged the lense shut. It was able to cool better and not fog front facing. I purchased three more of the same batteries prior to my trip and had the same results with all five batteries. I would buy this camera again but shop for better batteries.
