This was a much better lens than I was anticipating This was a much better lens than I was anticipating! It’s not my Canon 24-70mm 2.8, but it definitely serves it’s purpose. This lens is great for bringing to my kids’ school programs – I can get a great view of the whole class and I can zoom in close to get just my daughter in the picture. I wasn’t sure how it would do in not-so-ideal lighting in the school gym, but it worked so well. I loved that I could use just this one lens and not have to keep switching and missing part of her program. I’ve also tried it outside and it takes great photos of flowers. I found I need to stop down the aperture the more I zoom in if I want a clearer picture. I did struggle to get some clear shots when zoomed into 400, but the monopod that comes with this camera definitely helps. I have been giving this lens quite a workout the past week to make sure it’s worth the investment. At this price, and the fact that it replaces a few of my other lenses and is very decent quality, it’s definitely a…
Probably a good travel lens, mine was just cranky… I was looking for a good travel lens that would cover all spectrums of shooting, and this lens might work for some (obviously it has based on the ratings), but itâs performance -for me- does not replace the convenience of not having to switch lenses. Many times this happened when I was trying to shoot an important moment. At times, I could wiggle the lens and get it to intermittently cause the problem. Having just purchased this, I wasnât in the mood to try to trouble shoot a new lens when all other…
