Great camera, very good bundle of mid-range extras So you’ve got the EOS 80D camera, and — separately — the package of extras Digital Goja provides. Bottom line, so as not to bury the lede: If you’re going to buy the camera, it’s worth buying this package. The camera: Lots of other people have reviewed the 80D so I won’t go into detail. Suffice it to say, it’s arguably Canon’s best non-professional (i.e., under-$3000) camera. It’s terrific and you won’t go wrong. If you’re considering the 7D Mk II instead of this (as I was), this is the better choice for a number of reasons — it’s several years more advanced, it has better dynamic range (meaning better resolution of dark and light areas) and has built-in Wi-Fi. Unless you need the 7D’s GPS, there’s little reason to choose that over the 80D.The Digital Goja package: The package cost the same as buying the 80D body alone, so essentially it’s free. And it’s definitely worth more than that. 🙂 It’s got a mix of items ranging from the cheap (the mini tripod and…
This is the combo for budding filmmakers. This review is for the specific combo that comes with the 80d. Presumably you have done your homework and have decided the 80d is right for you. Now which package to get? This one is the one I picked and I was not disappointed. After years as a Nikon user I reluctantly made the switch to Canon for its video capabilities. I already own a PowerShot and the g7x and they are little powerhouses. I didn’t want to drop a boat load of cash on a bunch of crap lenses for the camera although some of the packages on here are very tempting. I wanted a decent prime lens and canon kills it with their nifty fifty coming in at under a hundred bucks. I also picked up a pricey 10-22 for filming indoors. The point is if you are going to get some good glass you don’t need all the junk in the other combos. This had some really excellent accessories like the monopod/selfie stick and 2sd cards which are nice to have that I am going to pass down to my budding film making children (along with the Nikon) The…
Nice bundle with a great camera I have been a long time Canon Rebel series user and have had some experience with the 80d already. So, I already knew I would really like the camera and lens. I choose this particular bundle because it was the best deal I could find at the time that I purchased the camera. If you are curious about the bundle, I was pleasantly surprised by the sling bag and rapid strap. The sling bag is small but I was able to comfortably fit the canon 80d, 18-135 USM lens, 55-250 STM lens and the 50mm 1.8 in the main compartment. The Rapid strap is very comfortable, allows me to use a tripod without removing the strap and has an extra safety latch. The monopod is very basic, but not terrible. I don’t have one, hardly ever use it but it is nice to have for some occasional video work. The mini tripod is designed for a point and shoot camera. It is not sturdy enough for the 80d. However, if you use it as a pistol grip it is ok. Everything else, other than the cleaning suppllies, falls into the cheap…
